So you want to edit some videos, but you don’t know where to start. Fear not, video editing isn’t as complicated as it seems. In fact, once you know the right tools and you get the hang of the process, it becomes a rather fun and interesting experience. Before you begin though, you’ll need to have the so-called raw materials: video clips, photos, audio files, and perhaps, a rough storyline. Throw in some patience and a bit of creativity for good measure, and you’re all set.
With all that at hand, the only thing left is a video editing program. And the good news is that you don’t really have to shell out cash just to gain access to such software. If you’re using Windows XP, chances are you didn’t know a nifty video editing program is already sitting in your PC. Windows Movie Maker comes free with XP and it’s easy enough to use. You can also download it from the Microsoft website and if you need some help in finding your way around, a short tutorial is also available.
